The points that are to be considered while selecting a table for massage therapy include the type of frame used for the table, the height of the table, the width of the table, the length of the table and the accessories such as a rolling stool as can accompany a massage table.
It is important that the height of the massage table is appropriate to enable reaching the client for providing appropriate massage strokes or movements. Clients who are large in size might warrant a lowering of the table height in order to reach the target anatomical pat that requires massage therapy.

Some of the requirements for a massage centre include a massage table, lubricants, positioning of the client/patient and draping of the client/patient.
Lubricants allow for friction-less movement while providing massage and several types of lubricants are available as can be used for massage therapy. The points that are to be considered while selecting a lubricant for massage therapy include its shelf life, the extent of lubrication it can provide, its cost, the amount of staining it can produce on the linen, draping sheet, etc, the extent of nourishment it can provide the skin, its mechanical properties and if the lubricant can induce allergic reactions.
Connective tissue includes the blood, the skeletal tissue, the adipose tissue and the cartilage. Typically, the connective tissue has a matrix which is amorphous in which the cells of the connective tissue are present. As most connective tissue have such a matrix which function as lubricant, it is recommended that less amount of external lubricant is used while providing massage to the connective tissue.
