GHS is the most popular and leading innovative healthcare system in USA. The organization is doing its great work in providing excellent medical services and treatments to the patients. The only problem it faces is in its procurement procedures of the hospital supplies and necessary materials and products to run the healthcare center's processes and treatments effectively. For this GHS has appointed Mr. RG as a VP of supply chain management. Mr. RG tried his best to change the supplies procurement ways at GHS but nothing came out to be successful.
The problems that GHS face that affects its communications are that the organization do not have a reporting concerned department from where the information and circulars are spread among the employees and staff at GHS. This creates an unknown and oblivious situation where employees do not take any circular or notice seriously and thus there are no inputs or response from their side over any new change in the procedures that takes place in the organization.
Other problem that GHS faces that it do not possess any special and independent product procurement or supply chain management center or department which makes things at the organization awry and procurement chaotic. GHS faces communication problems owing to this where no single department or authority has the right to approve for the materials before its gets procured in the organization. This makes an organization to spend enormously and incur expenses that could have been avoided.

The specific problems that Mr. RG faced as a result of his communications to materials manager are that initially when the announcement was made regarding the one week prior notice before purchasing supplies was approved by the managers. The managers and other staff members approved and praised RG for his policy and change in the procurement process. But after several weeks of the announcements the managers did not act upon the new policies in the procurement processes. And the procurement used to be undertaken in the similar way as it was carried in the past.
The major reason that could have been behind this situation could be that Mr. RG failed to meet and discuss every purchasing and materials manager personally regarding the new and changed procurement policy. To avoid this situation Mr. RG could have called a personal meeting where he could have discussed and put forward the new policy where material procurement has to be undertaken by presenting the procurement plan a week before its final sign.
Thus, Mr. RG faced the above mentioned problems where his materials and procurement managers did not respond and acted well over the new procurement policy and procedure.

The advice that could be given to Mr. RG to solve his and GHS's problems could be that firstly he has to make a personal networking and create bonding with his employees. The materials managers should be in a good term and rapport with the newly appointed Mr. RG. This is because every new face in the organization has to struggle to make its presence felt and same is the case with RG. He also has to create a rapport and build trust among the managers in the organization to gain their confidence and trust.
Mr. RG has to give his best efforts in making the working environment at GHS smooth and conducive. He has to firstly win the confidence of its employees and then make them feel valued while making decisions in the organization. These way employees will feel concerned and will pay their serious attention towards the new policies that are laid down by Mr. RG. The employees have to be shown the advantages of working as per the new policies which will not only make the organization gain profits but the employees will also gain a lot of benefits. Thus creating awareness about the above mentioned benefits will make Mr. RG to make his policies more acceptable and positive in the minds of the employees at GHS.
