Cast alloys are those used to produce a product for which the molten metal is cast in a finished shape, such as a grille, in a sand mold or permanent mold.

It is important that the coating be free of imperfections, such as pinholes, that permit moisture to reach the steel and cause it to rust. Both galvanized sheet and strip material are available.
