Deck 13: Prognosis: Your Future Leadership Growth
Describe each of the four phases of the Plan-Do-Check-Act process in a behaviour change.
Student will describe "Plan" as the thinking and recording of details in both why and how the behaviour change initiative was chosen as well as the step-by-step process by which it will be achieved. "Do" is the execution of the steps in the plan. "Check" is the study of what is working and what is not so that the plan can be adjusted. "Act" is to continue forward integrating the new behaviours.
What is willpower and how do we become over-reliant on its influence?
Student will describe willpower as an internal motivation to choose behaviours and actions that enable a person to stay on course within the bounds of a personal decision. We overuse willpower as both a justification and excuse for success and failure in moments of difficult choices.
Using the instructions in Chapter 13, student will identify three personal behaviour change goals that pertain to leadership. The student will complete the structured worksheets below to include detailed descriptions of each behaviour change; a motivation letter for each change; rewards and consequences for meeting weekly targets; identification of accountability partner and supportive cheerleaders; a schedule for communicating with the accountability partner; and four weeks of detailed steps for achieving each of the three goals.
Each student's work will be individualized, but use the worksheets below.
