The American Psychological Association,the American Academy of Child and Adolescent

The American Psychological Association,the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists,and the National Association of Social Workers have declared in their professional opinion based on research that

A) the psychological development of children of lesbian and gay parents is significantly and sufficiently compromised when compared to children of heterosexual parents so that society should discourage lesbians and gays from having children and not allow adoption.
B) the psychological development of children of lesbian and gay parents is somewhat compromised when compared to children of heterosexual parents but not enough to deny the fundamental right to parenthood to lesbians and gays.
C) there are no significant differences in psychosocial development between children of homosexual parents and children of heterosexual parents.
D) the research is still too inadequate,incomplete,biased and/or mixed in conclusions for a professional organization to take a position on parenting by lesbian and gay parents.
