The ECMO system has two principle components, a pump and gas exchange device. Additional circuit components include cannulas, pressure monitoring modules, gas metering devices, heater/cooler exchanger, and circuit tubing. Some of the newer devices have pressure, temperature, and blood analyzer fully integrated into their system.
