The most important task for a group leader is to help build group cohesion. As the group process develops the other tasks will fall into place if cohesion has been encourage. With cohesion there is trust, conflicts have little power and subgroups are too involved with the major process to distract. The issues of relapse quickly fall into place as the process continues.
