Conductive warming technology involves direct heating by contact with the client's skin. The system usually consists of a thermal unit or machine, connector hoses with clamps, and thermal transfer devices such as full body blankets, wraps, or pads that are placed on the client. After the thermal transfer device (i.e., blanket/wrap) is attached to the machine, distilled water (which has been warmed by the thermal unit) circulates through the thermal transfer device at a prescribed target temperature.
