In assisted closed gloving, a member of the perioperative team who is already gowned and gloved holds a sterile glove by the cuff and stretches out the opening. The ungloved team member, keeping the gown cuff beyond his or her fingertips, inserts his or her hand into the glove such that the gown cuff only touches the inside of the glove. It does not involve helping someone open a package of gloves, only change out of contaminated gloves, or "close the loop" on quality control.
