Same-race bias refers to the tendency of people to show preferential treatment to individuals of the same race. For example, if a person needs help but is not getting it because they are in a crowded area and people are not aware of their situation, someone who is of the same race as them might be more likely to step in and offer assistance. In this situation, the person may believe that their race is not a factor in the lack of help the other person is receiving, so they are more likely to help.
