We used birds as an example of sexual dimorphism resulting from sexual selection. But there are some bird species in which males, not females, sit on the nest to warm and protect the eggs. These males are less colorful than the females. How would you explain this? (Hint: Sexual selection may not be the only factor involved in sexual dimorphism in bird coloration.)
