Linking verbs are followed by complements that identify, rename, or describe the subjects. The most common linking verbs are the forms of be ( am, is, are, was , and so on) and the verbs of the senses ( feels, appears, tastes, smells , and so on). The following sentences all contain linking verbs. For each sentence underline the linking verb and write its complement in the space provided.
