Izquierdo and Mendez lived together and were engaged. While they were on a bike ride, one of Ricitelli's dogs ran after Izquierdo and struck her bike, causing her to fall and be injured. Mendez saw the attack and Izquierdo's injuries. He alleged that he suffered emotional distress as a result Ricitelli's negligence and that it was more than would be anticipated by a disinterested witness. Ricitelli defended by arguing that Mendez could not sue because he was not a member of Izquierdo's family. Who should win and why?
