In 1997 he created websites and electronic mail accounts containing the UE initials and names of university officials. He posted articles on the official-looking websites alleging wrongdoing by the officials. In the e-mail accounts he nominated the officials for jobs at other universities and directed the reader to his website for references. The university sued for false light invasion of privacy.
