Serrato and Lovekamp were divorced in 1975 after a 10-year marriage. Several months after the divorce they started living together again. Serrato alleged that in 1981 Lovekamp, after feeling ill, talked about selling his house and ranch for $120,000. He gave her a check for $60,000 for coming back and staying with him after the divorce. He told her she could cash it after he sold the property or if something happened to him. When Lovekamp died in 1999, the check was too old to cash. Serrato then filed a claim against the estate for $60,000. Is Serrato's return to live with Lovekamp sufficient consideration to enforce the promise to pay $60,000? Why or why not?
