Building a Team
The insurance company where you work is purchasing new software for the billing department. As head of the Information Technology Department, you are to lead the six-member team that will choose the new software. During the first two meetings, members of the group bickered constantly, and no one made any realistic suggestions. What can you do to make the team more effective?
In groups of five, discuss possible reasons for the group's behavior. Then discuss ways of building a more effective team that address those reasons. Prepare a presentation that describes your plan to create a more effective group.
