Self-awareness refers to the capacities in an individual to introspect and also reconcile any other person and surroundings. Self-awareness is one of the important skills for developing the professional and personal field. When there is high degree self-awareness it enables an individual to capitalize strength and develop plans for improving the limitations and face risks.
Self-awareness is important in the work place for bringing effectiveness in performance and productivity in business. In order to increase self-awareness in the coming year the following things can be practiced:
1. Self-analysis by observing the factors influencing behavior, attitude, thinking, interaction and actions. Analyzing self can make one aware of what and how to communicate and influence others.
2. Behavior needs to be analyzed carefully through examining how one act. Behavior is influenced through feelings, motivations, thinking, experiences and events.
3. Motivation is the drive to pursue any employee to work better and improve performance. Motivation can be done through increasing wages of employees, proper working condition, scope for career growth, support and training for employees. Motivation is an effective technique to make employees feel important and self-aware of its surroundings and work roles.
4. Modes of thinking can be changed and developed to positive thinking through exercise and meditation to improve self-aware and take right decision during personal or professional discussions.
5. Modes of acting in which one acts in response to any situation, event or actions of others. Modes of acting will increase self-awareness to behave properly with differently groups of people.
6. Modes of interacting through suitably communicating the ideas, feelings and thinking with others. Modes of interaction will increase self-awareness by making employees understand to whom to speak and whom to avoid.
Hence the above practices can increase self-awareness in the coming year for any individuals.
