Recessive mutations a - h are closely linked along a chromosome, and the deletions designated ? 1 - ? 5 occur in a wildtype chromosome. Each deletion eliminates the wildtype allele of one or more of the genes. A recessive allele of any gene will be "uncovered," and, therefore, expressed, in any individual in which the homologous chromosome carries a deletion that eliminates the wildtype allele. In matrix below, a minus sign indicates that a recessive allele is uncovered by the deletion, and a plus sign indicates that the wildtype allele is still present within the deleted chromosome. Deduce the order of the genes along the chromosome.
