Identify examples of habitat destruction or degradation in the area in which you live or go to school. Try to determine and record any harmful effects that these activities have had on the populations of one wild plant and one animal species. (Name each of these species and describe how they have been affected.) Do some research on the Internet and/or in a school library on management plans, and then develop a management plan for restoring the habitats and species you have studied. Try to determine whether trade-offs are necessary with regard to the human activities you have observed, and account for these trade-offs in your management plan. Compare your plan with those of your classmates.
