Patient Situation
Lani Ettinger is a 30-year-old woman, married, with three school-age children. She has just had a mastectomy (removal of a breast) because her biopsy was positive for cancer. The surgery was uncomplicated, the cancer was removed at an early stage, and she is expected to recover completely. As you are helping her prepare to leave the hospital, she begins crying.

I asked him if he will still love me and he didn't say anything. He was crying when he left." What would your feelings be about the husband?
