Deck 13: Interpreting and Reporting Research Findings
1
Explain how to interpret results and discuss findings of a study.
Interpretation of results and findings of a study:
After the collection and analysis of research data, researcher proceeds interpretation of the results. The interpreted results are considered as findings that others might evaluate. Interpretation of research findings might involve organizing and explanation of meaningful data. Interpretation of observed findings might be usually found towards end of research report below heading results, discussion, and conclusion.
The results section found in research report contains a report comprising results. For conducting study based on gains of researcher at considerable amounts of information. Until the specific information related to research questions and hypothesis these information restrains from including their results. Interpretation of research results that includes examination of meaning, significance of finding, generalization of finding, arriving at a conclusion, and suggesting implications of further study.

2
Distinguish between statistical and clinical significance.
Statistical and clinical significance:
Clinical significance is findings that have meaning of patient care in term of absence or presence of statistical significance.
Statistical significance is an extent at which the results of analysis have unlikely effect of the chance.
The important factor that considers interpretation of research is clinical significance. Research findings that possess meaning of patient care in absence or presence of statistical significance is considered as clinically significant. Achieving statistical significance does not mean the study values discipline of nursing.
"The word significant has to be used for reporting statistical results that are clarified by describing clinical results. Likewise clinically significant study does not require statistical significance. The reader must not find base evaluation study as rigor but also have to consider clinical significance."
