Exercise 9

Use the Search feature to locate information on James Smolowski.
1. On the Lists menu, click Patients/Guarantors and Cases, or click the corresponding shortcut button. The Patient List dialog box is displayed, and the cursor is blinking in the Search for box. Confirm that the entry in the Field box is Last Name, First Name.
2. Enter the first letter of the patient's last name. Notice that when you keyed S , the list window filtered the data so that only patients whose last names begin with S are listed. Now enter the second letter of his last name, m. The list now displays only those patients whose last names begin with the letters Sm. Now enter the third letter, o. Smolowski is the only patient whose name begins with the letters Smo, so he is the only patient listed.
3. To restore the Patient window so that all patients are listed, delete the letters entered in the Search for box.
4. Click the Close button to exit the Patient List dialog box.
