Enter an appointment for Herbert Bell at 3:00 P.M. on Monday, November 15, 2010. The appointment is sixty minutes in length and is with Dr. John Rudner.
1. Start Medisoft and restore the data from your last work session.
2. Start Office Hours by clicking the Appointment Book shortcut button on the toolbar.
3. If John Rudner is not already selected, click "2, Rudner, John" on the drop-down list in the Provider box to select him.
4. Change the date on the calendar to Monday, November 15, 2010. Use the arrow keys to change the month and year, and then click the day on the calendar.
5. In the schedule, double-click the 3:00 P.M. time slot. (You may need to use the scroll bar to view 3:00 P.M.) The New Appointment Entry dialog box is displayed.
6. Click Herbert Bell from the list of names on the drop-down list in the Chart box, and press Tab. The system automatically fills in a number of boxes in the dialog box, such as the patient's name and phone number.
7. Accept the default entry in the Case box.
8. Notice that the Length box already contains an entry of fifteen minutes. This is the default appointment length set up in Medisoft. Since Herbert Bell's appointment is for an annual exam, this entry must be changed to sixty minutes. Key 60 in the Length box, or use the up arrow next to the Length box to change the appointment length to sixty minutes.
9. Verify the entries in the Date, Time, and Provider boxes, and then click the Save button. Medisoft saves the appointment, closes the dialog box, and displays the appointment on the schedule as well as in the lower-left corner of the Office Hours window. Herbert Bell's name is displayed in the 3:00 P.M. time slot on the schedule.
