Anxiety:
Anxiety is a diffuse trepidation and nervousness which has an indistinct nature and is related with a sense of uncertainty and vulnerability.
Panic anxiety:
Panic anxiety is one of the four levels of anxiety described by Peplau, in the year 1963. It is one of the most severe states of anxiousness. Long-drawn-out panic anxiety may often lead to physical as well as mental exhaustion and can also be life threatening at times.
The following are the symptoms of panic anxiety:
• The patient is not able to concentrate on anything around him.
• It is related with a sense of tremor. The individual suffering from it may have a fear that he or she is suffering from a life threatening disease or a fear that they are going mad.
• Misperceptions and a loss of touch with reality are common symptoms of panic anxiety.
• The individual may also suffer from hallucinations or delusions.
