Working with a partner, underline the dependent-word fragment or fragments in each item. Then correct each fragment by attaching it to the sentence that comes before or the sentence that comes after it-whichever sounds more natural. Put a comma after the dependent-word group if it starts the sentence.
When a flock of birds is resting in the trees. One always acts as a lookout. It will warn the others of possible danger.
