The Responsible Travel Report suggests that when planning a trip travelers should consider how to make their trip more green-before and after the trip. a Here are a few tips:
Before the trip:
1. Reduce the weight of your suitcase to conserve fuel by packing multipurpose items such as shoes that can be worn for several different days or lightweight pants for cool or warm weather.
2. Bring reusable items such as a water bottle.
3. Reduce paper weight by downloading books, maps, and tickets on portable devises.
4. Pull new items out of the packaging before packing in order to recycle the materials.
After the trip and on a day-to-day basis:
1. Purchase eco-friendly cleaning products or make your own.
2. Line dry clothes or use drying racks.
3. Buy organic foods and eat fewer animal products.
4. Carpool.
