SLT Express Way provided motor carrier transportation. Initially, the SLT trucker refused to accept the shipment because it was improperly tarped. After some negotiation, SLT received a release stating that the tarp on the lathe was adequate and that SLT would not be responsible for a loss from not re-tarping. Within 50 miles of driving, the tarp was destroyed, and the lathe allegedly suffered damage. Is SLT responsible?
