Geographic ranges could be mapped at a scale of 1-m, 1-km, 10-km, or 100-km squares to-estimate the size of the geographic range. Would you expect the results of an abundance-range-size regression (as in Figure 7.9) to differ if you mapped distribution at different scales? Gaston (1994) considers this issue.
