The garden snail is a type of mollusk that feeds on vegetation. When the snail feeds, its mouth protrudes a tonguelike structure covered with a set of razor sharp teeth that move like a chain saw to cut and scrape food apart ( Fig. ). These teeth are lubricated by the mucus of the salivary gland. This sticky mucus traps food particles, and the beating of cilia lining the esophagus drives food to the stomach for digestion. From this scenario, (A) determine which organ system and organs are described, and (B) describe how the four types of tissues are specifically involved in the snail's feeding process.
