Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) is the percentage of alcohol (ethanol) in the blood by volume (volume of ethanol divided by volume of blood). Blood is mostly water, so when a person drinks, the alcohol is readily dissolved into the blood and body fluids. Task: Two college-aged people, a male and female of the same age, weight, and body build, drink the same amount of alcohol in the same amount of time ( Fig. ). Refer to Table to help you predict which of these people will have the higher BAC. Why? What about a college-aged male and an elderly male of the same weight and body build? Which will have the higher BAC? Explain.
