The hairy frog lives in fast-moving rivers and streams in western Africa. It has greatly reduced lungs. During the summer mating season, males develops long "hairy" strands on the skin on their hindquarters ( Fig. ). These hairs have a rich supply of blood vessels. Explain how these hairs meet the oxygen demands in the stage of life of this frog.
