Drug is the thing that acts on the certain organs and lowers the pain or the disease. Pharmacology as the name indicates it is the study of the medicines or the drug. It includes the administration of the drug, its action on a certain organ, their response and the amount of the drug to be administered for better results.
A perfect drug is safe and effective but there is no perfect drug till now as some meet some criteria and others meet some criteria. But to be effective a drug should have degree of effectiveness for treating or preventing a health condition.
Thus a drug is approved based on the degree of effective and the condition on which the drug is approved is called the indication.
The two basic types of drugs are the therapeutic classification and the pharmacological classification. Therapeutic classification deals with the type of drug that is being administered to treat the disease whereas the pharmacological classification deals with the action of the drug.
