ETHICS Some commentators argue that Walker-Thomas Furniture was providing a valuable service to Mrs. Williams and that the litigation ultimately harmed her community. No other business of the time was willing to offer credit to people of such limited means, much less to African Americans. As a result of that landmark case, Walker-Thomas went out of business and an entire group of people lost access to essential household items. Comment.
