The world's longest yacht (about 550 feet- approaching two football fields) is under construction at this writing at a cost of hundreds of millions of dollars. The Eclipse reportedly is being built for Russian tycoon, Roman Abramovich, who already owns several massive ships with the reported intention of keeping one each in the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, South America, and the Pacific. The Eclipse is expected to have two helicopter pads, small submarines, cinema, aquarium, disco, six hot tubs, and so on. The Eclipse apparently was deliberately built to be longer than the soon-to-be-runner-up in the world yacht race, the Dubai, owned by Sheik Mohammed of Dubai.
