Universal Casualty Insurance, which insures your company, Hillsboro Assisted Living Village, has requested a copy of your emergency preparedness plan for protecting your facilities, employees, residents, and data in the event of a disaster or accident. Your boss knows your company has an evacuation plan for tornados or fires and that the IT department backs up the system every day, but the plan needs to be updated and made more thorough to specifically address the issues surrounding the evacuation of your residents who have special needs. For example, many residents are in wheel chairs, have Alzheimer's disease, or are otherwise limited in their ability to help themselves during an evacuation. Your boss has asked you to research an emergency preparedness plan for your company.
After you have done the research on what an emergency preparedness plan should contain for a company of your size and nature, write a report to your boss in which you report your findings. Based on your research, also present a policy and include it as an appendix.
