Like any small business owner, Jeff Birdsell realized that starting this venture would entail a tremendous commitment of time and energy. He had expected to work 60-80 weeks indefinitely, and finds he works at least that. He estimates that he and his parents frequently tally up to 250 hours per week in the organization. Employee turnover at Shauncey's runs at 100 percent per year.
