You spend the day with your Aunt Sally on her 55th birthday. She has a salad for lunch and suffers no ill effects. However, she indulges in fried chicken and French fries for dinner. A few hours later, she is rushed to the emergency room with a severe pain on the right side of her abdomen. She reports that she has had bouts of pain over the last month or so. What do you think is Aunt Sally's problem? Why isn't the pain continuous?
