Following Spring Break 2001 in Acapulco, several hundred college students returned to school ill with pneumonia-like symptoms including fever, chest pain, and coughing. The symp toms ranged from mild to fairly severe. Their sputum contained yeast-like cells. Acapulco has a damp climate and organic soil. There had been considerable wind during the week.
