• Ms. Jones has ibuprofen (Motrin) prescribed for her back pain. She tells you she cannot take this medication because it makes her feel nauseated.
• Mr. Bigler had an open reduction internal fixation of his arm performed yesterday and is receiving an antibiotic, cefazolin (Ancef), 500 mg IV every 8 hours. He has already received three doses of this medication, and you initiated his 0800 dose about 10 minutes ago. He tells you that he thinks his throat is closing shut.
