Young children can learn about many cultures through the exploration of the people and their music.Explain how young children can learn about music and instruments for another region or county.
Provide opportunity for children to experience recordings or CDs of music from a specific culture.Listening to the music, playing the instruments, and participating in the singing and movement will provide another way to learn about people of the world.Inviting a guest artist (parent, relative, or sibling) who can provide a live performance will make the experience more personally meaningful.Add some of this "new" music and instruments to the Music Center where the children can experiment with the sound possibilities and work together to compose music.
