Describe the uses of clear silicone dampproof liquids and how they are applied.
Clear silicone dampproof liquids are widely used on exterior concrete, masonry, and wood surfaces. They are not a surface coating but penetrate a material, carrying solids into its pores. They do not color a wall but do reduce efflorescence. They can be applied with a brush, roller, or spray.
3
How are epoxies used?
Epoxies are used to provide a waterproof coating. They are often employed to seal floors in areas where moisture or chemicals exist, such as in food processing and industrial applications. Other uses include floors around swimming pools, decks, showers, restrooms, loading docks, and on stair treads. When mixed with an aggregate, such as emery, epoxies provide a textured, slip-resistant surface available in a variety of formulations.
