Plotinus was a neoplatonist philosopher, and his philosophy was greatly influenced by the work of Plato. He saw himself as a successor to the platonic tradition, and much of his work was dedicated to interpreting and developing Plato's ideas. While he was certainly familiar with the work of Aquinas, Augustine, and Plutarch, they were not major influences on his thought.
