Polymorphous low-grade adenocarcinoma is most frequently seen in minor salivary glands in the palate. It is a slow-growing malignant tumor and accounts for approximately 10% of all salivary gland malignancies. It can also occur in other minor salivary gland sites, such as the sinonasal tract and the upper respiratory tract. It is rare for it to occur in major salivary glands such as the parotid or submandibular glands. It has no association with the parathyroid glands.
