If the seller or lessor tenders nonconforming goods and the buyer or lessee accepts them, the buyer has two remedies available:
A) sue for ordinary damages which could include the cost of repair, the difference in value between what was delivered and what was supposed to be delivered or any other direct loss suffered by the buyer.
B) deduct damages from the unpaid purchase price if the buyer chooses to keep the nonconforming goods. However, this remedy is only available if the seller or lessor has been notified of the nonconformity and failed to make a proper replacement or repair. 
Punitive damages are generally not an available remedy for breach of contract.
