In the very distant future, stars like our Sun will eventually burn out and become white dwarfs. Over trillions of years, these white dwarfs will cool down and fade away into black dwarfs, which are essentially dead stars that no longer emit light or heat. Since the process of star formation will cease long before this, and given enough time, most of the normal matter that currently exists in the form of stars will indeed end up as black dwarfs.
