Robin Thicke and Pharell Williams Had a Hit Song,"Blurred Lines

Robin Thicke and Pharell Williams had a hit song,"Blurred Lines," in 2013.Mr.Thicke and Mr.Williams were sued by the heirs of Marvin Gaye who claimed that the song copied portions of Mr.Gaye's 1977 hit song,"Got to Give It Up." Mr.Gaye was shot and killed by his father in 1984.The Gaye heirs brought the suit in 2014.Under federal copyright laws:​

A) ​the suit was brought within the time limits of the copyright protection for the song.
B) ​the suit had to be brought by 2004.
C) the suit cannot be brought because Mr.Gaye is no longer alive.
D) if there were only portions copied, there is no copyright infringement.
