Aplastic anaemia is a condition in which the bone marrow is damaged, leading to a decrease in the production of all types of blood cells. This damage can be caused by exposure to certain toxic chemicals or radiation. Iron deficiency anaemia (A) and acute blood loss (B) are different types of anaemia with different causes and mechanisms. Intrinsic factor deficiency anaemia (D) is also caused by a different mechanism, in which the body cannot absorb enough vitamin B12 from the diet.
