The United States Supreme Court did not extend freedom of the press to movies in 1915. In fact, in the 1915 case of Mutual Film Corporation v. Industrial Commission of Ohio, the Court ruled that movies were a business and not a form of expression protected by the First Amendment. It wasn't until much later, in the 1952 case of Joseph Burstyn, Inc. v. Wilson, that the Supreme Court recognized movies as a form of expression protected by the First Amendment.
