On which surface of the body are the buttocks located?

The buttocks is located on the dorsal (back) side of the body. 
Ventral refers to the front side of the body.
Proximal refers to areas nearer to the center of the body or the point of attachment. For example, the elbow is proximal to the wrist.
Distal refers to areas farther from the center of the body or the point of attachment. For example, the wrist is distal to the shoulders.
