Right upper quadrant (RUQ) or epigastric pain can be an indicator of HELLP syndrome, a severe form of preeclampsia. HELLP syndrome (Hemolysis, Elevated Liver enzymes, and Low Platelet count) is often mistaken for viral gastroenteritis due to its variable and nonspecific presentation.
